DIY Ombré Walls

I know what you're thinking... "two posts in one week?! What have we done to deserve such a blessing?!" I kid. I kid.  I know you're excited though :)

Today I'll be talking about ombré walls. Ombré has been a hot trend for quite a while now. It can be seen on everything from nails to hair and even walls.

After renting for so long, and having plain white walls, I knew I wanted to do something fun for G's room. Her color scheme had been teal, pink, grey and white for some time now and she had absolutely no desire to change that. Considering that her bed is a teal/blue, I decided to do grey walls with one pink ombré accent wall.

I applied two coats of every color and spent countless hours blending the colors so that the contrast wasn't noticeable. I'll admit, after looking through the tutorial, I didn't expect it to be too difficult. Boy, was I wrong! In all fairness, I guess it wasn't THAT hard, once I figured out what I was doing. It took a while for me to get the hang of the blending, but I also did most of it VERY late at night, after working 8 hour days.

If you're interested in creating your own ombré wall, this is the tutorial I used.

Drumroll please.... The finished product is finally here!

Last week I showed you a sneak peek of our new packaging along with a mystery gift I made for a friend. Today, you get to see the finished product. Included in the package was a baby blanket, matching burp cloths, and an additional set of funky owl burp cloths (one can never have too many burp cloths...trust me, everything that went in my child's mouth, came right back out).

My longtime friend, Missy, is about to have her baby girl, Mia, any day now. I am so happy for her and her growing family and what better way to say 'Congratulations' than with a handmade gift. Missy received the blanket and burp cloths yesterday and, to my delight, she loved everything.

As I continue to sew, I will post items for sale here on our page. In the meantime, if you or anyone you know is looking for a personal handmade item, feel free to inbox me with your request.

Special Delivery

Here's a sneak peek of our new packaging over at Sweetly Styled Studios.  I found these, along with some other cute packaging supplies, at Target and I am so happy to finally use them!

Inside that stylish, striped tissue paper lies a very special delivery for a very special friend. I can't wait until she receives it, but until then, it's a surprise. Any guesses on what it could be?

Stay tuned for the reveal next week!
