As a party planner, I have never been able to give up control and allow someone else to plan a party for me. It's something I've always found impossible to do. However, this past weekend, that all changed. My best friend, Lindsey, threw me a baby shower that surpassed my wildest dreams. I told her the theme I wanted and she completely exceeded my expectations. I mean, I knew she had it in her, and I knew she'd create a party I'd love, but she went above and beyond. No detail was left unturned. She thought of everything and even more than I would have. She even planted 30 succulents in tiny terra cotta pots to hand out to the guests as favors. There are really no words to describe how happy I am with how everything turned out. I am beyond blessed to have someone like her in my life.
The shower took place at her house which is a tropical oasis. It was literally the perfect location for the event. Her décor matched the theme perfectly. She created the cutest boho photo backdrop (she knows I'm a sucker for a good photo op). The color palate was neutral with pops of rose gold. Did I also mention that she can cook her ass off?! Well, yeah, she totally threw down in the kitchen. The menu consisted of a delicious charcuterie board, lentil and feta bruschetta salad, mini chicken and waffles with two different kinds of dipping sauces, chicken and rice salad and the most delicious, mouth watering empanadas I have ever eaten. For the dessert table we had an adorable rustic naked cake with handmade, edible succulents, white chocolate covered oreos topped with edible succulents, blueberry, cherry and apple pie pops, vanilla cupcakes and glazed donuts.
Everything was simply magical and I could not have imagined a more perfect day.
