In our house, we do Elf on the Shelf. This is our third year with Peppermint, our elf, and honestly, it may be our last. Don't get me wrong, I love traditions and I especially love how G's face lights up every morning when she discovers Peppermint in a new spot, but quite frankly, it's a lot of work.
There's only so many ideas I can come up with and, while Pinterest is a huge help, I don't want to spend 20 extra minutes every night setting up an elaborate display. It's exhausting and after she's asleep, dishes are done, lunches are packed, dinner is cooked, and I have finally showered and sat down on the couch... The last thing on my mind is making sure Peppermint is livin' it up in a new spot in the house. Many nights I forget to move him and then I'm put on the spot at 6:30 a.m. trying to come up with an excuse why.
All in all, it's been an eventful three years with our sneaky little elf. However, I have a feeling that Santa may be giving him a promotion to Head Elf after Christmas. One that involves long hours in Santa's workshop a/k/a he just won't have the time to visit us anymore. ;)
